Comparison Action

To illustrate the variance in input parameters between the current scenario and a baseline, follow these steps as demonstrated in Figure 1:

  1. Navigate to the scenario screen with menu Planning > Scenario Analysis.
  2. Select your base case from the Reference Scenario dropdown list.
  3. Choose Model Parameters from the subsequent dropdown list.
  4. Click on Compare.

Comparison Result

Upon initiating the comparison, the system evaluates input parameters, ranging from QSI coefficients to Alliance Factors. It then generates a comparative dashboard, which will be displayed in a new tab, as depicted in Figure 2. This dashboard can be accessed later through the menu path: Planning > Comparison Reports > Parameter Difference.

Dashboard Description

The Model Parameter Difference dashboard consists of multiple tables, each displaying parameters and adjustments made in both the reference and current scenarios. You can use the Different control at the top to show only items with differences.

  • Parameter Difference: These include connection inclusion, QSI coefficients for various service types, connection windows, circuity penalty, day of the week and time of day preferences, demand constraint factors, etc. By default, all factors are listed in the table, with items differing between scenarios highlighted.
  • Airline Adjustment Difference: This table presents adjustments made for different airlines by airport, true Origin and Destination (O&D) market, or on a systemwide basis. The Source column indicates whether the data is from the reference scenario (Old) or the current scenario (New). When adjustments are identical, the source is labeled as Same. If no adjustments were made in either scenario, the table displays No results!.
  • Partner Adjustment Difference: This table reveals differences in traffic adjustments for airline partners, including mergers, joint ventures, and codeshare partners by airport, true O&D market, or on a systemwide basis.
  • Unit Cost Difference: This table provides differences in unit cost by aircraft type.
  • Fare Formula & Demand Elasticity Difference: This table compares Fare Formula and Demand Elasticity parameters used in two scenarios.
  • Airline Alliance Difference: This table showcases differences in alliance membership or adjustments made for each alliance.
