Comparison Action
To highlight the differences in segment results between the current scenario and a baseline, follow these steps as demonstrated in Figure 1:
- Navigate to the scenario screen with menu Planning > Scenario Analysis.
- Select your base case from the Reference Scenario dropdown list.
- Choose Result by Segment from the subsequent dropdown list.
- Click on Compare.
Please note that a scenario can be executed without producing segment results, which saves time, by selecting the Skip Segment Process option (see Figure 1). To ensure you have segment results for the current scenario, verify that this checkbox was not enabled when running the scenario. If it was enabled, the current scenario will lack results by flight segment.
Comparison Result
Upon initiating the comparison, the system evaluates model output by flight segment. It then generates a comparative dashboard, which will be displayed in a new tab, as depicted in Figure 2 and Figure 3. This dashboard can be accessed later through the menu path: Planning > Comparison Reports > Segment Impact.
Before conducting the segment result comparison, make sure that segment results have been generated.
Dashboard Description
The dashboard features various input controls at the top, allowing you to filter the results effectively. By default, the host airline is pre-selected in the Airline control. The Origin Country and Dest Country controls accept country names. For the Origin and Dest controls, typing a portion of the airport name will generate a list of matching options from which you can choose. To quickly identify an airport if you know its code, enter the code followed by a colon (e.g., JFK:). Similarly, the Airline control accepts airline code and name separated by a colon.
The Comparison by Segment dashboard highlights the effects of revenue and profit by segment. It includes the following tables and charts:
- Change Summary: This tables provides information on revenue, cost, profit, passengers numbers, seats and departures in both the reference and current scenarios, along with changes.
- Pax Change by Country Pair: This chart illustrates changes in passenger numbers by segment country pair. You can click any bar in the chart to filter the entire dashboard by the country pair corresponding to the bar. This is a shortcut for entering values in the Origin Country and Dest Country controls.
- Revenue Change by Country Pair: This chart displays changes in revenue by segment country pair.
- Cost Change by Country Pair: This chart illustrates changes in cost by segment country pair.
- Profit Change by Country Pair: This chart displays changes in profit by segment country pair.
- Change by Segment: This table (in Figure 3) details differences in passenger numbers, revenue, cost, profit, departures, and seats by operating airline and segment airport pairs. You can click any cell in the AL, ORG, and DST columns to filter the entire dashboard by the selected airline, origin airport and destination airport, respectively.
