Comparison Action

To highlight the differences in Origin and Destination (O&D) results between the current scenario and a baseline, follow these steps as demonstrated in Figure 1:

  1. Navigate to the scenario screen with menu Planning > Scenario Analysis.
  2. Select your base case from the Reference Scenario dropdown list.
  3. Choose Result by O&D from the subsequent dropdown list.
  4. Click on Compare.

Comparison Result

Upon initiating the comparison, the system evaluates model output by O&D. It then generates a comparative dashboard, which will be displayed in a new tab, as depicted in Figure 2. This dashboard can be accessed later through the menu path: Planning > Comparison Reports > O&D Market Impact.

Dashboard Description

The dashboard features various input controls at the top, allowing you to filter the results effectively. By default, the host airline is pre-selected in the Airline control. The Origin Country and Dest Country controls accept country names. For the Origin and Destination controls, typing a portion of the airport name will generate a list of matching options from which you can choose. To quickly identify an airport if you know its code, enter the code followed by a colon (e.g., JFK:). Similarly, the Airline control accepts airline code and name separated by a colon.

The Comparison by Airline and O&D Market dashboard measures the subsequent effects of changes by O&D market, especially in terms of how traffic and revenue dynamics shift. It includes the following two charts and one table:

  • Revenue Change by Marketing Airline: This chart shows revenue change by marketing airline between the base and current scenarios. You can click any bar in the chart to filter the entire dashboard by the airline associated with the bar. This is a shortcut for entering values in the Airline control.
  • Pax Change by Marketing Airline: This chart illustrates passenger number change by marketing airline. You can click any bar in the chart to filter the entire dashboard by the airline associated with the bar.
  • Change by Market: This table details changes in passenger numbers, revenue, traffic share, and revenue share by O&D market. Additionally, each record shows percentage of revenue from local traffic in the baseline (old) and current (new) scenarios. You can click any cell in the ORG and DST columns to filter the entire dashboard by the selected origin and destination airports.
