Airline groups are conglomerates or holdings that own or have significant stakes in several airline companies. To enhance operational efficiency, member airlines will coordinate their strategies, such as joining the same alliance.
Airline groups can be defined in the Group_Airline table. Access this table by navigating to [Your User Name] > Custom Tables (illustrated in Figure 1), and select the GROUP_AIRLINE table.
The table contains three columns, as depicted in Figure 2.
- Code: Assign a code for the group.
- Members: Lists the IATA codes of individual airlines within the group, each code is separated with a comma.
- Description: Provides a brief description of each airline group (optional).
The system comes with some pre-defined airline groups. You are empowered to edit these records, add new groups, or delete existing ones as required.
