Last week, FlightBI had the opportunity to attend the 98th Annual Conference & Exposition hosted by American Association of Airport Executives in Los Angeles. It was an incredible few days filled with meaningful conversations, industry insights, and exciting discussions about the future of aviation analytics.
Conferences like AAAE are always valuable because they bring together airport executives, consultants, airline professionals, and technology providers from across the industry in one place. Beyond the presentations and sessions, the real value comes from the conversations happening throughout the event — learning directly from industry leaders about the challenges airports are facing and the strategies they are exploring to adapt in an increasingly data-driven environment.
During the conference, we had the opportunity to showcase some of the latest developments within Fligence ZIP-OD and discuss how airports are using ZIP-code-level passenger demand data to support air service development, marketing, catchment & leakage analysis, and strategic planning efforts.
One recurring theme throughout many conversations was the growing importance of understanding passenger behavior at a more granular level. Airports are increasingly looking for ways to better understand where travelers originate, how catchment areas are evolving, and how competitive pressures are shifting across regions. As the industry continues to evolve, actionable data and practical analytics tools are becoming more critical than ever.
We also enjoyed reconnecting with longtime industry colleagues while meeting many new professionals working to shape the next generation of aviation strategy and airport management. Events like AAAE reinforce how collaborative the aviation industry truly is and how much innovation is happening across the sector.
A special thank you to Los Angeles World Airports and AAAE for organizing such a well-run and engaging conference experience.
We look forward to continuing the conversations started last week and staying connected with everyone we had the pleasure of meeting.
